Kingsford is located on the eastern boundary of Randwick City, about 7 kilometres south-east of Sydney’s CBD.  The Kingsford town centre and areas to the east allow for medium to high density residential development and includes houses and townhouses up to multi-storey apartments. Close to 40 per cent of all private dwellings in Kingsford are flats, units or apartments. The University of New South Wales influences the high number of students located in the area, Kingsford has a diverse multicultural population offering a wide variety of  excellent restaurants and cafes.

Kingsford has a large commercial area (extending along Anzac Parade) which also incorporates multistorey apartments above. There are a number of local grocery stores including IGA, White Lotus Asian Food Market, Randwick Oriental Supermarket and Thai Kufar. Kingsford is on the major bus service operating along Anzac Parade, it is an excellent service, offering direct routes to a range of different locations.

Kingsford is just moments from the beautiful eastern suburbs beaches including Coogee and Maroubra. Nearby is Randwick Racecourse and Centennial Park, University of New South Wales and NIDA, (the National Institute of Dramatic Art). There is also a number of parks including Paine Reserve and Snape Park.

Local Schools in the suburb and surrounding area include St Michael’s Convent School, St Spyridon College, Brigidine College at Randwick, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Kensington), Randwick Girls’ High and Randwick Boys’ High (Randwick)
